Introduction

The University of Peshawar, as a mother educational institution of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa established in 1950, is an outcome of the dream of the father of the nation and was created as the first ever University after independence. It is vigorously working with its full zeal and spirit, truly serving and sacred cause of education altogether.

The University of Peshawar, is not only catering for the academic needs of Peshawar but also of the whole province and international students; reaching out to 20,000 students per annum. The highly qualified and trained faculty, student friendly and supportive administration, modern curricula, conductive academic environment and excellent infrastructure are the hallmarks of the University. Its role in political, industrial and government leadership is recognized. University has an over whelming contribution in bringing the positive changes in the society.

Career Fair & Projects Exhibition – 2020

The Career Fair & Projects Exhibition in University of Peshawar is scheduled to take place on 16 April, 2020. The event will be designed to provide a platform to the Faculty and Students; prospective employers from the industries and services sector; HR Consultants to interact for each other’s mutual benefits. They will have a deep insight to the efforts made by academia of the University to meet their future knowledge and skill requirements and a chance to personally meet the prospects and evaluate them in advance for internships and employment. The HR Consultants will act as a catalyst in bridging the “need matrix” of both academia and industry.

University of Peshawar has 6 faculties with 41 different departments having BS and Master program along with 5 research centers; currently 16,000 graduates enrolled in various disciplines. The Career Fair will benefit the fresh graduates in terms of job search and company introduction while the students in their last year of study might have internships as offered by the companies participating in the career fair. Apart from cubicles set up for each company, information sessions for specific companies will be taking place in the auditorium halls. Relevant graduates will be facilitated to attend the sessions and gather company profile. .

We expects a large gathering of students and employers on the occasion. We expect to welcome more than 50 plus employers from Public and private organizations, alongside top bureaucracy, Industrialists, businessmen, educationists, academicians and many other important dignitaries at the event.

Main Objectives of the Event

• The Career Fair will provide a conducive environment to students and the employer to interact and share information.
• To strengthen industry-academia linkages by bringing industry into the University; interacting with faculty, students and administration for future liaison.
• To aware the industry with the quality of graduates University of Peshawar is producing in order to grab internships and jobs for the fresh graduates of the University.
• To equip the faculty with latest industrial practices and set the direction for fresh research arenas.
